Finkelstein Thompson LLP is investigating the propriety of Verizon's "shortfall charges." Verizon announced this year that Verizon telephone customers subscribed to a long distance plan but who do not meet their minimum spending level will incur a "shortfall charge" that is "equal to the difference between the monthly spending level and the actual amount spent." Verizon telephone customers who do not subscribe to a long distance plan will incur also incur a "shortfall charge."
