April 23, 2010

Finkelstein Thompson LLP is investigating claims that a recent McAfee antivirus update has caused problems on thousands of PCs running Windows XP.

According to news reports, allegedly the antivirus update has paralyzed a number of PCs with Windows XP by forcing the computers to repeatedly reboot themselves.  The AP has reported that “thousands and possibly in the hundreds of thousands” of PCs nationwide have been affected from the repeated rebooting, including computers in hospitals, police departments, and universities.
