Reuters is reporting on a recent study which finds that six common Herbalife products contain lead levels in excess of that allowed under California law. The products mentioned include Herbalife supplements Thermogetics, Shape Works Cell Activator, Multivitamin Complex, Tang Kuei Plus, Shapeworks Protein Drink Mix and Healthy Meal Nutritional Shake Mix. The Reuters item quotes a source as saying that, while “individual tablets may not exceed California’s 0.5 microgram limit on lead in dietary supplements . . . the daily recommended dosage would result in lead exposure large enough to warrant a warning label.”
