FT LLP is investigating potential claims that players of social networking games (such as FarmVille and Mafia Wars) on Facebook and MySpace may have incurred unwanted charges in connection with those games.

Specifically, recent news reports indicate that some such players may have unwittingly incurred unauthorized charges when accepting offers from advertisers in exchange for in-game currency.  These charges may have appeared as bank, credit, phone charges, or in some instances, text messages and auto-recurring SMS subscriptions.

Finkelstein Thompson is currently investigating the following companies:

·       Facebook
·       MySpace
·       Zynga
·       Video Professor
·       RockYou
·       Tatto Media
·       Offerpal Media
·       SendMe Mobile
·       Double Ding
·       Super Rewards
