Finkelstein Thompson has recently filed a class action lawsuit against Facebook alleging that advertisers have been charged fees based on fraudulent or non-existent clicks on their Facebook advertisements.

Specifically, the lawsuit alleges that Facebook has improperly overcharged pay-per-click advertisers by charging them for more clicks than they actually received. Despite Facebook’s disclosure that advertisers will only be charged for clicks they receive, many advertisers, particularly small businesses, have complained that they have been overcharged in the magnitude of “1000s of clicks.” The lawsuit further alleges that Facebook has not appropriately credited advertisers who have been overcharged.
